WARTSILA TO MOVE TO HUMBER ENTERPRISE PARK
Wartsila is moving to the site from its current Hawthorn Avenue base in Hull to give it the capacity for expansion.
Managing Director Chris Harding said: “The facility gives us a blank canvas to establish a state of the art, highly flexible and modular manufacturing footprint. It also provides room for significant expansion and more importantly gives a greater opportunity to become more operationally excellent, which is of significant benefit to our customers.”
The company is planning to start refurbishment work on the new premises shortly and expects to be fully operational by the end of the year.
Ben Medhurst, Director of PPH Commercial, said: “Wartsila approached us to undertake a full survey of the market to find suitable premises for expansion and the Humber Enterprise Park was ideal for their needs.”
The 79 acre Humber Enterprise Park is one of the biggest industrial sites in Hull and the East Riding and has undergone extensive refurbishment to provide high grade production/storage units, offices and business space.
PPH Commercial is marketing the vacant accommodation at Humber Enterprise Park, with one industrial building of 175,000 sq ft and 50,000 sq ft of office space currently available.
Businesses and organisations on the site include BAE Systems, Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, and Dearings Plastics. The site has Enterprise Zone status, so significant business rate discounts are available.
