The site comprises a development plot of 3.44 hectares (8.49 acres) approx. The site is irregular in shape but benefits from river frontage to the River Ouse. It would suit development or open storage uses, subject to consent.

The Port has a network of short sea shipping services to Northern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltics, and is a bulk cargo port, handling around 2 million tonnes each year including agribulks, cement, animal feed and cereals, as well as steel products and bulk liquids. The Port has an extensive timber terminal, scrap terminal and ABP operated brick terminal.
