Update on Sea Road Development, Cleethorpes

Construction works commenced last week on the prestigious new Waves development at Sea Road, Cleethorpes.

This is a Landmark development being carried out by North East Lincolnshire Council and being constructed by local contractors JEM Build.

Interrupted by COVID, the three-storey Sea Road building was granted planning permission in 2020, and promises to offer new high quality outside space, with public viewing areas as well as balconies. The first floor of the building will be accessible from Pier Gardens, giving a gracious nod back to how the pier was accessed when it was first constructed. Duncan Willey of PPH Commercial comments that is great to see the physical development on site now taking place.

Work to deliver the three key schemes in Cleethorpes, the Sea Road building, Pier Gardens and Market Place, along with a small amount for signage, is being funded through by HM Government. Money through this fund is being ringfenced for these projects and can’t be spent on other projects in the town.
