Software developer acquires new £250k office at stylish Scarborough Business Park
SCARBOROUGH Business Park will soon be ‘home’ to a well-known Yorkshire software developer after they successfully completed the purchase of a stylish office unit at the £10m development.
The buyer, who cannot yet be identified because of contractual reasons, has acquired the freehold of Unit 11 at Manor Court to form a key part of their strategic expansion plans.
They initially intend to use it as a base for a team of specialist developers, but it could eventually help to create new long-term jobs in the town.
PPH Commercial acted jointly on the sale with Iain Simpson & Co, having marketed the premise for £250,000 on behalf of owners Gladman Developments Ltd.
Romy Silvers, Commercial Property Director at owners Gladman, said: “It’s always extremely pleasing to bring new employers to the region, especially one which is involved with developing software and modern technology. Potentially, this move could lead to some exciting future employment opportunities.
“Pleasingly, Manor Court continues to be a premier location. It provides a range of high-class office, warehouse and retail space, and is very close to some exceptional leisure facilities.
“In my mind, there is no doubt that this latest arrival will strengthen both the buyer’s long-term prospects and those of Scarborough Business Park itself. It certainly justifies our investment and faith in this excellent location.”
Ben Cooper, Divisional Director at joint agent PPH Commercial, added: “Whilst the office and commercial property market has slowed because of the Covid-19 crisis, this acquisition proves that deals are still being done, especially for stand-out units.”
The successful sale is the latest boost for the out-of-town Scarborough office complex, which recently installed a £60,000 fibre network to improve its connectivity capabilities. The modern self-contained work spaces now benefit from arguably the best superfast fibre broadband speeds in North Yorkshire.
Set within landscaped grounds and arranged in Gladman’s trademark courtyard design, the development compiles several spacious open-plan offices ranging from 200sqft to 13,993sqft.
Boasting ample on-site parking, the buildings have been carefully designed to meet the needs of the modern office occupier.
Its practical and attractive working environment is already home to the NHS, Practical Network Solutions, CCG Supplies, J & D Pierce (Contracts) Ltd and a wide range of SMEs. Having previously attracted Sirius Minerals, the development is expected to prove popular with other regional and national organisations.
Units are still available either to lease or purchase. For more details, please visit www.manor-court.co.uk or call 01482 626912 for an informal discussion.
