RELOCATION PROVIDES WHOLE NEW CONCEPT FOR AMBITIOUS HULL ENGINEERING FIRM
The company, which was formed in 2008 by directors Steve Larkin and Andy Cowper, design and build bespoke machines for manufacturers along with general fabrication work, operating in a range of different sectors throughout the UK.
Having outgrown their previous premises, Concept enlisted the help of PPH to find a suitable alternative – and have now negotiated a 12-year lease on four units at the GB Business Park, off Wiltshire Road, in Hull.
With the factory now fully refurbished by the landlord to meet Concept’s requirements, managing director Steve Larkin believes the move will help to fuel their long-term growth ambitions.
He said: “We needed somewhere with more room to match our aspirations and this site has double the amount of floor space available. We’re hoping it will give us room to grow and, eventually, allow us to create between five or ten new jobs.
“That sort of figure would be in line with our growth plans, which would mean taking on more admin staff, new engineers and some new apprentices to fulfil our growing order book.
“We feel the length of the lease shows our commitment to the Hull and these premises, which we see as being a key part of our business growth and development. We’re thrilled to find somewhere that more than meets our short and long-term requirements.”
Ben Medhurst, the PPH director who negotiated the deal on behalf of the landlord, is delighted to see this growing Hull business strengthen its commitment to the city and its economy.
He said: “Concept Engineering are clearly a forward-thinking business with big plans for the future. Steve, Andy and their team boast a wealth of specialist engineering knowledge – and they now have the perfect premises from which to fulfil their ambitions.
“Hopefully, this move into fully-refurbished offices and a larger factory can act as a catalyst for ongoing success and future growth.”
