NEW LEASE OF LIFE BECKONS FOR LONG-TIME HOME OF VALVE MANUFACTURERS
Wärtsilä Valves, which was formerly known as Shipham Valves, produces specialist products for the global marine and energy markets, including power plants and off-shore gas terminals.
Established in Hull in the 1930s, its continued success recently prompted a relocation to the Humber Enterprise Park in Brough and they can now benefit from the advantages of being located within an Enterprise Zone.
Having instructed the business space agency team at PPH Commercial to sell its former 2.3-acre site on Hawthorne Avenue in west Hull, the sale has now completed.
Curtis Land & Property Ltd has purchased the 64,500sqft space, which is suitable for various uses, and the Hull-based company now plans to carry out an extensive refurbishment before letting it again on the open market.
Managing director Howard Curtis said: “We’re excited to see what the future holds for this building, which has great potential and could fulfil a whole host of different requirements.
“Whether we sell or let the units has not yet been decided, but we’re confident that a much clearer picture will emerge in the near future.”
Enquiries are currently being sought from businesses who need office space of up to 7,000sqft and factory space from 10,000sqft to 50,000sqft.
