MULTI-MILLION-POUND DEAL HELPS BRING ONE OF THE UK’S BIGGEST PRESTIGE CAR SALVAGERS TO DONCASTER
HBC Vehicle Services Ltd, which specialises in selling damaged marque vehicles, has agreed a five-year deal to create its new regional headquarters at Sandtoft Grange Farm, off Belton Road in Sandtoft.
Having agreed to a five-year deal for the 21-acre site, HBC Vehicle Services are planning to use the former airfield to store cars before they are auctioned and transported to new owners.
HBC currently has 13 sites in the UK and this agreement could eventually create around 20 additional full-time jobs as the new site becomes operational.
Duncan Willey, the Chartered Surveyor from PPH Commercial who negotiated the deal on behalf of TA White & Sons Ltd, believes HBC’s arrival in Doncaster will be an excellent addition to the local economy.
Mr Wiley said: “This is the largest single letting of land to be completed in Yorkshire or Lincolnshire this year to date, so it obviously an important deal of real significance.
“It’s always pleasing to help bring new jobs to an area because it creates a feel-good factor and once again proves that Doncaster is a great location to do business.
“Before the deal could be done, a substantial investment was needed to improve the site’s services and drainage to ensure it’s suitable for long-term storage use. This meant negotiations took almost six months to complete, but it’s been worth all the hard work and effort that everyone involved put in.”
Scheduled to open before the end of September, the 21-acre site will be the second largest in HBC’s portfolio, complementing their existing operations around the UK.
Steve Hankins, HBC’s operations and business development director, said: “We have come to Yorkshire because it’s an area where we believe our business will thrive.
“What appealed to us most about this Doncaster base was the size of the former airfield and its location, which is ideal because it strengthens our UK presence along the East Coast.
“We can’t wait for it to be operational and we’re excited by the opportunities we’re certain it will present.”
Space still available at Sandtoft Farm
The Sandtoft Farm site still has one plot remaining of approximately 5.91 acres, which benefits from electric gated access down a private road off Belton Road, and enquiries can be made by calling 01724 294946.
